Artists on Original Recording
"It's amazing how the thing that is keeping us apart, is in some ways, actually bringing us closer together.
When my friend Jim Payetta asked me about this idea, I didn't have to think about it for more than a second. We wrote 'We Are One' to help raise much needed funds for the COVID-19 relief effort. The first guest we called was the Harlem Gospel Choir, who recorded their parts in isolation from the American Epicentre of the outbreak in New York. I then reached out to some musician friends from around the world to submit their parts, and the support we got was overwhelming.
Now we're sending the song out into the world, for free, and asking people to put THEIR voice on it. By asking people around the world to download the tracks here at this website, then make the song their own, we're hoping to highlight the fact that although we may be in different parts of the world, we are all connected on this planet and we are truly One.
A huge shout out to all of my friends, singers and musicians from around the world, all of whom generously donated their time and talent to this project. A special thank you to Russell Broom, who produced the song, and Sean Smith who produced the video. It was a big production challenge getting all of these artists recording their parts and videos in isolation at home and getting them to Russ and Sean to produce the finished product in such a short period of time
The complete list of everyone who played and sang on the original version is available here.
I can't wait to see where this goes"
